| Good Afternoon Everyone,
The State Law Enforcement Chiefs’ Association has contributed a donation in the amount of $300 to the FDLE Law Enforcement Analyst Academy. In case you are not familiar with the Analyst Academy, it is a highly structured training program to develop and enhance the skills and abilities of law enforcement analysts working in Florida law enforcement agencies supporting officers, deputies and investigators in the field. Analysts learn criminal and intelligence analysis skills that are used by law enforcement and other emergency responders to successfully prevent crime and conduct complex investigations as well as a variety of other complex analytical skills. The academy is a six-week program delivered over a six-month period (one week each month). While the program itself is grant funded by DHS, there are no funds authorized to support graduation activities, plaques, or other mementoes for participants. In the current class, 14 students representing state law enforcement agencies are in attendance, including FDLE, AgLaw, FWC, DOC, DFS (Insurance Fraud and State Fire Marshall), and the Office of the Attorney General.
This contribution is in line with SLECAs’ mission statement to serve the state purpose of enhancing law enforcement for the citizens of the state and will go a long way in supporting our fellow law enforcement agencies.
Ron Cave, President
