Hello SLECA Members,

It was my honor yesterday (05/13/10) to represent the State Law Enforcement Chiefs’ Association, along with several other state agency representatives, at the Capitol and throughout the state, to execute “Statements of Support” for Florida Employer Support for Guard and Reserve.  We all have employees who duly serve our state as law enforcement, correctional, or probation officers, and who also serve our country in the military.  While we do a good job of ensuring the employees are provided with time off, continuation of benefits, etc., we also must not forget the sacrifices made by the members’ families.  I would like to recognize Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) Executive Director Julie Jones, and DHSMV Communications Director David Westberry, for their diligence in assisting with this event coordination.
